So yummy and beautiful. It was a huge hit with the family. I agree that there is no need to make such an amount of drip. A small amount is needed even if you cover the top of the cake with it. Otherwise, follow the recipe to a T and you’ll get amazing results.Thank you Courtney!

This is literally my favorite cake of all time. It’s so moist and addicting. I personally didn’t make the buttercream and instead just used the filling as the frosting, and it came out amazing. Not too sweet but incredibly chocolatey and delicious.

About double the time.

Yes. Assuming you’re using three 7-inch rounds instead of 8-inch rounds, you’ll need to increase the timing about 5 to 10 minutes.

I really like, and prefer Extra Brute Cacao Barry Cocoa Powder and you’ll find it on Amazon. You can also look for Guittard Cocoa Rouge, which is at several grocery stores.

This cake is amazing! I’m having problems finding the hersheys special dark. Do you have a substitute? I’ve searched everywhere.

It can stay on the couple for an hour or two. If it’s longer than that, I’d refrigerate it but make sure you have it in an airtight container like a cake dome or cake box so it doesn’t dry out. You can pull it out a couple hours before serving.

After I decorate it do I need to keep it in the fridge before serving or can it stay on the counter? If I need to put it in the fridge when should I pull it out before serving?

These layers don’t get super tall for this cake. Usually about 1.25″ If they’re shorter than that, I’d say it could be that the ingredients were cold or it’s an oven issue. You could also 1.5x the recipe to get thicker layers.

The taste is amazing but I had the same issue with rising. Mine is very thing. Is the only tip not to overmix? I literally counted the seconds in my head.

You can assemble and freeze it about a week ahead of time. The cookies stay pretty crunchy but will soften a little bit more than if you assemble and serve the cake same day.

Literally so amazing, im obsessed! it turned out perfectly, it was such a hit. I want to make it again in a 9×13 pan this time, how long would you recommend to bake it for in the oven?

I made this cake because a friend asked for it for her birthday, and everyone loved it. I wouldn’t make it again because it has way more sugar in it than seems necessary, almost 10 cups.
